In the heart of Great Western Sydney, Bossley Park is the home to many sports clubs in the famous GWS. Thriving and growing GWS is home to some 2 million Sydney residents who love their sport. And spectator seating is an important requirement for sports infrastructure in the region.

Requirement

Stage 1 – Field No 2

The new synthetic No. 2 Soccer Field will be a heavily used facility operating 7 days and nights per week. No. 2 Soccer Field requires functional, hard wearing, and attractive spectator seating as soon possible on the Northern end to complete the infrastructure.

Solution

After a site visit to assess the amount of room available it was decided that 3 x GS5-24m4t grandstands (570 people) was the perfect solution. Ongoing scoping discussions revealed the need for wheelchair bays to be included into the design. GSA used the same design developed at The Abbey in Caboolture Queensland and included 3 x 4.5m wheelchair cut-outs into the design.

The next steps included consultations with Club Marconi and the appointed civil contractor to finalise concrete specifications and timelines.

Result

The Order was placed, and contract signed in October 2023. The project schedule was to have Grandstands installed December 2023 however extensive rain delays resulted in Grandstands Australia delivering during January 2024.

GSA Grandstands were delivered flat packed in three loads on our crane truck in late January 2024. The sub-contract team of tradesmen erected and installed the 3 x GS5-24m4t GSA Grandstands in 4 days.
